Due dates & escalation¶
Give a message a deadline, remind people before it, and find out who missed it.
Add a due date¶
Under Due by, choose a date, time and timezone. Recipients see the deadline at the bottom of their DM, shown in their own Slack timezone. The message report marks anyone who hasn’t responded after the deadline as Overdue, and you can filter the report to them.
Due dates are available on every plan. They need a one-time send: recurring schedules can’t have a fixed due date.
Remind people before the deadline¶
Under Automatic follow-ups, choose 1 day before the due date to send a reminder to anyone who hasn’t responded yet. Team and Business can also repeat follow-ups until people respond.
Escalate when it’s due¶
Escalation is available on Team and Business. Turn on When it’s due, DM me a list of who hasn’t responded. When the deadline passes, Employee Reminders sends you a Slack DM listing everyone still outstanding, with a link to the report. If everyone has responded, you get a short confirmation instead.
Escalation needs a due date and an Acknowledge, attestation or Done / Need help button.
Notify managers¶
Turn on Also DM each person’s manager to send each manager a DM listing their own reports who haven’t responded.
Managers come from your audience import. Upload a CSV with a header row that names an email column and a manager column, for example:
email,manager_email
alex@example.com,sam@example.com
jordan@example.com,sam@example.com
People who appear only in the manager column aren’t added to the audience. Managers must be members of your Slack workspace. Plain email lists without a header never set managers.
