Delivery, responses and focused follow-ups¶
Open Sent & responses, then choose a message. The report separates delivery from explicit employee responses.
Read the report¶
- Delivered: Slack accepted the DM.
- Acknowledged: the recipient clicked your acknowledgment button.
- Awaiting acknowledgment: the DM was delivered but no acknowledgment is recorded.
- Queued: delivery has not completed.
- Failed: Slack could not accept the delivery. The row includes the available error reason.
A button that opens a link does not record an acknowledgment. Acknowledgment is a button response, not a passive read receipt or proof of task completion.
Follow up without messaging everyone again¶
Select Prepare follow-up to create a new draft for delivered recipients who have not acknowledged. This creates a saved audience and copies your message; it does not send automatically. Edit the wording, check the audience and preview before sending.
Select Prepare retry for failed deliveries to create a draft for failed recipients. Resolve the underlying Slack or account issue before retrying.
The follow-up audience reflects the report at the moment you create it. If responses arrive later, review the audience before sending.
Search, filter and export¶
Search by recipient name or email and filter to acknowledged, awaiting, queued or failed recipients. Export visible rows downloads the current filtered report as CSV for your records.
Use Duplicate message when you want a new draft with the original audience and content.
Done and Need help¶
Choose Done / Need help under Action button when composing a message. Recipients can request help and later mark it done. The report shows each response and its time. Done is self-reported; it does not verify that an update was installed.
Automatic follow-ups¶
Under Automatic follow-ups, choose a delay after delivery, one day before the due date, or a specific date and timezone. Every plan includes one follow-up. Team and Business can repeat follow-ups, up to ten. Only originally delivered recipients who have not acknowledged or responded receive them. Failed deliveries are excluded. An acknowledgment, Done, or Need help stops reminders for that person. Pause follow-ups from the original message report.
CSV response exports are available on Team and Business. Exports include each recipient’s delivery and response times, the due date, any attestation statement and the message text. Free workspaces can view delivery and response reports.
